Canterbury Christian School commenced in 1982 with thirteen students and one teacher in the football clubhouse at Pioneer Park, Kirwan. The founding families’ goal was to use the spiritual privileges and knowledge which are ours by the grace of God to provide for our children, and for the children of any who want to join us, the finest education which we believe must be based ultimately upon the revealed Word of God....a school which is unequivocal in its values - a school which points its students to the Saviour of mankind - to a life of worthwhile service to God and man - a life that will never end. (Mr Ron Fyffe, Foundation Board Member).
After a move into larger temporary premises (within the Townsville Baptist Church confines) in 1983 to cater for growing student numbers, the school relocated to its own property in Annandale in August 1988 and adopted the name Annandale Christian School. Since then the school’s programs and facilities have expanded to include Kindergarten (Pre-Prep); Preparatory; Primary (Years 1 – 7) and Secondary (Years 8 – 12).
In January 2010, a name change to Annandale Christian College acknowledged and celebrated the K – 12 nature of our learning environment.
