Career Development

At Annandale we help students acquire the necessary skills for career planning and decision making, with a focus on developing their ability to manage the transition from school to the next stage of life. A Career Education program is currently implemented to assist Year 10 students in career pathways and planning.

We provide students with access to resources and information from universities, TAFE and other Registered Training Organisations as they seek to discover their career path. Year 10 students work with the Career Advisor, (and in partnership with their parents) to compile what they see as an appropriate Senior Education and Training Plan (SET Plan) which outlines their chosen subjects and courses to reach their post-compulsory schooling goals. This document is then revised through Years 11 and 12 under the guidance of the Career Advisor.

All students undertake structured Work Experience in Year 11 and 12 as part of the curriculum. Year 10’s are offered structured work experience opportunities during school holidays. Year 10, 11 and 12 students are also provided with opportunities to participate in excursions to Careers Markets, Vocational Skills programs and University Open Days that occur annually.
